Men's Thobes & Jubbas
The thobe — also called a jubba, kandura or dishdasha depending on where it is worn — is the foundation of men's traditional dress across the Muslim world. Muslim Bazaar brings together thobes from independent vendors in a range of regional cuts and fabrics.
Regional styles. Emirati thobes sit clean and collarless, often finished with a tarboosh tassel at the neck. Omani styles share that silhouette with a more tailored line through the body. Moroccan and South Asian jubbas run looser, and frequently carry embroidery at the placket and cuffs.
Choosing a fabric. Lightweight cottons and cotton-poly blends suit daily wear and warm weather, and tend to travel well. Heavier weaves hold their shape and drape better for Jumu'ah, Eid and formal occasions.
On sizing. Sizing conventions differ from region to region, so a size that fits in one cut may not fit in another. Compare the measurements given for each item against a thobe you already own rather than relying on the size label alone.
